Guy Luzon has been installed as the odds-on favourite to succeed the sacked Bob Peeters as Charlton’s manager.
The 39 year old was last season in charge of Standard Liege, who he led to second place in the Pro League, and has also previously managed in Israel.
Luzon left Liege, another of the clubs under the network of Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet, in October.
At the time of his departure, a club statement read: “Guy Luzon has told the squad that he is stepping down as coach. He is no longer head coach of Standard, but will remain active inside the network of partner clubs.”
Also among the bookies’ favourites are Tim Sherwood, Karel Fraeye, Rene Meulensteen, Damian Matthew and former manager Alan Curbishley.
The latter, however, has been reported as being among the frontrunners for multiple vacancies without returning to management so there seems little reason he will be reappointed at Charlton.
