Cray were defeated in Tommy Warrilow’s second game in charge of the club.  Three second half goals from Maldon & Tiptree as well as a sending off of Max Fitzgerald.

Cray were the better side first half and could have been ahead at half time.  Steve Springett and Alex Stavrinou should have done better when presented with good chances than shoot wide and Shaun Welford tested home keeper Lewis Moore with a shot which the keeper pushed around the post for a corner.

Maldon dominated the second half and took the lead on 53 minutes when Mason Bloomfield scored with a simple header from Johnathan Nzengo’s cross.

Two minutes later Cray’s hopes of getting back in the game were hampered when Fitzgerald was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Maldon went 2-0 on 64 minutes when Nathan Koranteng struck with a fine strike from 25 yards.

Cray stuck to their task well and pulled a goal back on 75 minutes when Steve Springett’s shot was deflected into his own net by Yala Ruddock.

The home side added a third goal two minutes from time when Bloomfield set up substitute Tunde Adewunmi who scored from close range.
