Charlton have received a welcome boost after it was revealed Frederic Bulot’s injury is not as serious as initially feared.

The Gabon international looked set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines after being struck down with a hamstring problem in last Friday’s 3-0 televised loss at Fulham.

But head coach Bob Peeters confirmed the midfielder will be back in time for the derby clash with Millwall following the latest set of internationals.

“Frederic was better than we thought,” the boss said.

“I thought we were going to lose him for four to six weeks but as it looks now it might only be another week or 10 days.

“That’s not too bad.

“Hopefully he will be back after the international break.”

And there was more good news on the injury front on one of Charlton’s young academy graduates.

“Joe Gomez trained today,” added Peeters.

“They expected him to be out for six weeks and after four weeks he is nearly back to full fitness levels.

“The injury normally has healed but he missed four weeks of training so now we need to build him up again, get him ready and hopefully also he is going to be at 100 percent again after the international break.”
