The Wands went down to defeat despite a determined display.  Only a fine save from ex-Wand Andy Walker prevented Cray from taking a point.

The home side started impressively and could have scored three goals early on.  Twice Lamar Reynolds came close but for good goalkeeping from Darren Behcet who also turned away a shot from Lewwis Spence.

For Cray Adrian Stone hit a shot over the crossbar.  Ian Daly’s fine cross fell to Welford who slipped as he was about to shoot before halftime.

Cray came close when Tom O’Connor’s nicely struck free kick went just wide but the home side  took the lead when Ross Wall cut in from the right and hit a shot which maybe through Darren’s injury meant he couldn’t quite get down to save and the ball hit the back of the net.

Cray almost equalised with two minutes to go when Walker made a great save as Alex Stavrinou flicked the ball through to Welford whose shot was turned wide.  Stavrinou came close a minute later when his volley went over the bar.

Cray:   Behcet, Stubbs (Cesc Fakinos 90+3), Springett, Stone, Talbot, Lye, T O’Connor (Stavrinou, 76), P O’Connor, Welford, Daly, Welsh:  Subs: Silvera, Larin, Beckett
