Charlton head coach Bob Peeters was delighted with his side after they picked up a dramatic victory over Wigan at The Valley.

Jordan Cousins had put Charlton in front with a curling effort before Callum McManaman equalised on 22 minutes.

But Franck Moussa struck a 94th-minute winner as the Addicks collected their first league victory of the season.

And Peeters was thrilled to see his new charges bag the three points after they laid siege to the Wigan goal late on.

He said: “I’m very happy that we got the three points and if you look at the chances that we created in the last 20 minutes, we should have scored earlier.

“But if you can score in the 94th minute then you’re always going to be delighted.

“We were nervous in the first five minutes of the game but then we stepped up and scored a very good goal.

“We knew that Callum McManaman was their danger man and the first ball to be played over our defence fell to him.

“From our point of view, he scored an easy goal.”

Peeters was involved in an altercation with opposite number Uwe Rosler at the full-time whistle.

Wigan’s boss claimed the Addicks manager had ran 30 metres to celebrate in front of him, but Peeters admitted he did not know where to head to.

“We scored the second goal and I started running and celebrating.

“I don’t want to mention the exact words that he said to me but he said don’t come and celebrate in my corner.

“And I said ‘OK sorry’ and something then happened which I don’t really want to go into.

“I have to learn to keep my composure and go away because I know it is emotional when you concede a goal in the 94th minute.

“It was a deflected shot and I needed to be smarter and step away from the situation.

“I lost my composure a bit but afterwards we shook hands and it is finished.

“I apologised to my players because I needed to be strong in front of them but I’m not going to apologise to him for what he said to me. Never ever.”
