A well-known Irish folk group have written a song to show their support for Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis.
The Corrigan Brothers, who rose to fame with their 2008 hit ‘There’s No One As Irish As Barack Obama’, are backing the Eagles’ boss to be named manager of the year.
'Tony Pulis is Manager of the Year' was announced today (May 12) and is set for release in five days' time.
Having performed for the US president the band are now hoping Pulis wins the accolade this month and say they want to play for him too.
Guitarist Brian Corrigan said: “What Tony Pulis has done this season to keep Palace up has been amazing – he had an impossible task when he joined in November and delivered five Premier League wins in a row on April 19.
“There is no better managerial performance in world football this year".
The exact date of when the award will be given is unknown, and Pulis faces stiff competition from the likes of Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers.
See the lyrics to the second verse below:
The Eagles are soaring/
Tony made it so/
playing with passion/
won five in a row/
now in Selhurst Park/
there's no longer fear/
and that is why he’s/
manager of the year/
