BOURNEMOUTH have expressed an interest in signing Charlton defender Rhoys Wiggins.

It was reported yesterday on the south coast the Cherries want to snap up Addicks striker Yann Kermorgant, but he isn’t the only Charlton player who is out of contract this summer Eddie Howe hopes to bring in before the January window closes on Friday.

News Shopper understands the Bournemouth manager has made a double bid for both Wiggins and the French forward, an offer which remains on the table.

Wiggins joined Charlton from the Cherries in 2011 on a three-year deal which is set to expire at the end of the season.

He played a key role in the Addicks’ 2012 League One title winning campaign and has comfortably made the step up to Championship level by remaining a regular in Chris Powell’s side.

Charlton now have to decide whether to offer the 26-year-old a new deal, accept Bournemouth’s offer and gain a transfer fee or risk losing him for nothing in the summer.
