CHARLTON were crowned Community Club of the Year for the second time in four years on Sunday.

Just six days after the Addicks celebrated the fifth year of the pioneering Street Violence Ruins Lives campaign, the Charlton Community Trust scooped the honour at the 2013 Football League Awards.

Charlton also won in 2009.

FANS who purchase their 2013/14 season ticket before April 8 will make substantial savings, including up to £169 on purchasing tickets on a match-by match basis, the club announced on Monday.

Both existing season-ticket holders and new applicants can purchase online, and places for next term are available from just £300 adults – just over £13 per game.

All U18s are £100 and all U11s are £50.

LOAN capture Mark Gower could make his Charlton debut against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

The 34-year-old was recruited from Premier League side Swansea City earlier this month until the end of the season.

TICKETS are on general sale for Charlton’s home matches against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday and Wolverhampton Wanderers on April 20, but only Red Card holders and season-ticket holders can purchase places for Leeds United on April 6 (all 3pm).

PARALYMPIAN Andy Barrow, the new disability and mental health ambassador for the Charlton Community Trust, will help mark the Addicks mark a special disability awareness day at Saturday’s match against Bolton Wanderers.

CHARLTON’S Kent Senior Cup semi-final clash with Thamesmead Town will be played at Bayliss Avenue on April 23 (7.45pm), it was confirmed last week.

TWO-TIME world darts champion Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis was the winner of the second Charlton Masters tournament held at The Valley on Saturday.

He defeated Paul ‘The Asset’ Nicholson in the final of an exhibition tournament that also featured Andy ‘The Viking’ Fordham and Bobby ‘The Dazzler’ George.

Charlton will stage another darts event later this year.

FANS have until the end of March to take advantage of a free trial to CAFC Player, the club’s premium video website, and subscribers can now listen to live match commentaries through their smartphones.

The Football League app on iPhones and Android devices has been updated to allow fans to access the BBC LONDON commentary of Addicks matches, and fans can test the service for themselves by signing up to a 14-day trial before March 31.

WITH 21 fewer opportunities to book to play on the Valley pitch this summer, fans are being urged to reserve their place as soon as possible.

Slots are available from £1,750 (plus VAT) from May 6-26, with benefits including the use of the home and away changing rooms and dugouts, the use of the lower west stand for up to 500 spectators, and three official match footballs.

The Grease/Dirty Dancing night takes place on April 12, while the Rolling Stones evening is on July 12.
