IAN Holloway admits he has made an enquiry for out of favour QPR striker DJ Campbell.

Campbell is surplus to requirements at Loftus Road and has already been told by Harry Redknapp he can move on.

The forward enjoyed a successful loan spell at Ipswich this season and the Tractor Boys are keen to get the 31-year-old back to Portman Road.

But Holloway is also interested and although reluctant to speculate on the chances of getting the deal done, the Selhurst Park chief did reveal a call has already been made to the Premier League strugglers.

He said: “There is no truth in anything yet, it is all hype, mystery and God knows what.

“Have I rung Harry Redknapp? Yeah.

“Does that mean I’m going to get him? No.

“Will I fight for him? Yeah.

“Will I get him? I don’t know.

“It is him and another.

“There are lots of other players that I could get and could bring.

“But really truthfully speaking I think deals that get done should be talked about and deals that don’t you should never talk about.”
