Sidcup hold nerve to seal trophy

2:01pm Monday 11th January 2010

ERITH Leisure Centre hosted the first Bexley girls’ U13 indoor cricket competition yesterday.

Three teams entered as Bexley, Sidcup and an all star team played a round-robin competition with each side winning two games.

This necessitated the champions being decided on a count back of wickets lost during the day.

Bexley CC lost 11, the all star team nine, only one more than winners Sidcup, who lost eight, although they needed to defend the last two balls in their final match to protect the slenderest of leads.

This competition doubled up as part of the selection process to select a borough team for the London Youth Games cricket competition being held in early February.
