BEXLEY District girls’ cricket team hosted Gravesend Grammar School for Girls in a 28-over kwik cricket fixture at Townley Grammar School for Girls on Saturday.
And what an exciting match it turned out to be with the result not being decided until the very last ball.
The Bexley girls are competing for places in the team to represent the borough in the London Youth Games and, batting first, posted 272-7.
They attempted to defend the slightly below par total with determination but were unable to prevent the visitors from reaching 276-9 and securing a four-run victory.
Bexley’s team were made up of players from Bexley CC, Sidcup CC and Birkbeck School.
