GREENWICH’S male hockey players will compete in the final 12 of the London Youth Games hockey competition after making it through the qualifying rounds.
The qualifiers were held on June 21 at Redbridge Sports Centre.
In total, 22 boroughs entered the boys’ competition and Greenwich qualified from their group alongside Bromley, Wandsworth and Southwark.
The team was drawn from a range of schools across the borough, including Henwick Primary School, Crown Woods School, Kidbrooke School and Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys.
Manager Ravi Chana said: “The boys played really well and played to their potential.
“Well done to them and the organisers for a great event.
“We are all optimistic about the finals at Crystal Palace.”
The draw for the hockey finals will be published on londonyouthgames.org ahead of the finals on July 4 at Crystal Palace.
Greenwich squad: Rohan Chana, Nakhil Chana, Frederick Evans, Tobias Shrimpton, Charlie Parker, Jonathan Reynolds, Patrice Kay, Harpal Singh, Tirath Rathor.
