MIKE Coulter is coming back into form after a five year break from competitive cycling.
In last Tuesday’s event, the Gravesend Cycling Club member set a faster time than his for the Club Evening 10 Trophy than his main rival Bob Crayford.
Their respective times were 25m08s and 25m10s.
However, when times are adjusted for age in the veteran’s competition, Crayford comes out ahead by 12 seconds.
Fastest rider on the night was A. Beswetherick of Catford CC, who was timed at 24m53s.
Other times were John Clegg (Medway Velo) 26m26s, Keith Ward (riding a fixed wheel) 27m21s and Ian Soper (GS Avanti) 27m49s.
GCC times in the previous week’s competition were Crayford 25m33s, Jason Tibbs 25m55s and Ward 27m03s.
Coulter set good times in the latest VC Elan 10-mile event on the Thanet Way (24m11s) and the KCA 50-mile time trial (2h11m58s).
Ward also rode in the KCA 50 and was timed at 2h26m52s.
Crayford has been riding in veteran road races and took third place in a 30-mile contest at the new Hog’s Hill Circuit.
He was also 15th in the 28-mile National Criterium Championship.
Andy Gibson has been riding the Bexley CC 10-mile events on the A20 and recently set times of 24m45s and 24m13s.
