An unbroken fourth wicket stand worth 64 runs to date was frustrating Kent’s efforts to force their first win of the LV= County Championship season against Division Two visitors Glamorgan.
On a ‘shirtfront’ of a pitch in sunny Canterbury, the visitors, chasing an unlikely 404 for victory, lunched on 114-3 after 42 overs of their second innings and with a minimum 65 overs remaining in the match.
Glamorgan, resuming on their overnight total of 32-1, lost opening batsman James Kettleborough in the seventh over of the day for 20.
Playing back and across the line to a Darren Stevens in-ducker, the right hander was palpably leg before.
Will Bragg perished in similar fashion five overs later when he played all across a full length ball from Matt Coles to depart without scoring to make it 50-3.
Night watchman Cosker (33*), who has become something of a thorn in Kentish sides in recent summers, again stuck around in tandem with Colin Ingram (42*).
That forced acting Kent captain Sam Northeast to turn to spin in the shape of England winter tourist James Tredwell.
The move backfired as Tredwell conceded 16 in the penultimate over before the interval.
