BEXLEY U15 girls defeated Greenwich junior cricket academy by five runs in a league encounter last week.
Batting first, Bexley reached 132-4 in their allotted 20 overs but Greenwich were always in touch with the run rate, although they ended up five runs short on 127-2 in a thrilling finale. Meanwhile, Townley Grammar School’s U13 girls’ team represented Kent in the Chance to Shine regional finals involving schools from across the south of England and East Anglia at Springfield Cricket Club in Chelmsford.
They won two and lost games at the contest to finish fifth in the region and have been rewarded with a trip to Lord’s in August to watch the England women’s team take on Australia in a one-day International fixture.
