COLFE’S School’s U13 girls’ cricket team are through to the regional final of the Kent Cricket Board's Chance to Compete tournament.
The Lee school won all their matches at Bexley CC and their run rate of 21.3 compared to Tunbridge Wells Girls’ Grammar School’s of 21.1 from their success in the other contest taking part at The Mote CC ensured Colfe’s will go through to the next stage at the end of this month.
Colfe’s teacher Nicci Rayes said: “The girls thoroughly enjoyed the competition, my girls have now gone cricket mad.”
KCB women’s and girls’ development officer Natasha Newman added: “The standard of cricket over these competitions was fantastic given that most of the new entries only started cricket in term five.
“Chance to Shine is an excellent vehicle to support us with exposing cricket. “The competition brought opportunity for both pupils and teachers.
“I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope to see the girls competing again.”
