DEFENDER Kelly Youga and goalkeeper Rob Elliot last week signed new contracts with the Addicks to 2011 and 2010 respectively.

French left-back Youga spent the first half of last season on loan at former Championship outfit Scunthorpe United, but made a big impact on his return to The Valley at the turn of the year.

Elliot made his first-team debut in April's 2-1 win against Plymouth Argyle following the early sending off of Nicky Weaver.

CHRIS Powell has declared his intention to return to Charlton after last week being released by the Addicks so he could continue his playing career.

"I want to carry on and although that may not be at Charlton, I will continue to hold the club and its supporters in the highest regard," he said, acknowledging the club's budgetary constraints.

"The reaction after my final game, and indeed my experiences throughout my time at Charlton, will stay with me forever.

"It's my firm intention to be back at this club one day."

Defender Osei Sankofa, 23, will also be released this summer after 19 appearances in six years.

BRIGHTON & Hove Albion are Charlton's latest confirmed pre-season opponents with the Seagulls facing the Addicks at the Withdean Stadium on July 26 (3pm).

The game will be Micky Adams' first home match in charge while midfielder Therry Racon could return to the club he represented on loan at the end of last season.

THE 2007/08 season may be over after this weekend's play-off matches, but Charlton's players will report for fitness tests over the next fortnight.

The squad has been given the option of attending Sparrows Lane either next week or the week after for a series of exercises with performance manager Niall Clark designed to help them to hit the ground running at the start of next season.

EXISTING Charlton season-ticket holders have until the end of the month to renew their usual seat at The Valley for the 2008/09 campaign.

All fans who purchase seats before August 1 are guaranteed a free season ticket in the Premier League the following year should Alan Pardew lead the club to promotion to the top flight, but the seats of existing season-ticket holders will only be reserved until the end of May.

For more information, or to renew online, visit cafc.co.uk or call 0871 226 1905.

THE Valley commercial centre is operating slightly reduced hours during the summer months, opening from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays. However, this will be extended to 8am to 6pm on weekdays during the season-ticket seat swap week, the date of which has yet to be confirmed.

YASSIN Moutaouakil was in the France under-21 squad due to play its first match of the Toulon international tournament against Chile today.

France also face Japan on Thursday and the Netherlands on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Grant Basey will have to wait a little longer to make his Wales under-21 debut after being an unused substitute in a 2-0 defeat to England last Thursday.

Danny Uchechi failed to make the starting XI as Nigeria under-23s won 3-1 against the Republic of Ireland under-21s in their opening match of the Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia.

THERE is still time for youngsters to book their place on one of the 21 fun football courses taking place across Greenwich, Bexley and Kent from next Tuesday.

A number of Addicks first-team players will make personal appearances at some of the courses, which are run by qualified Charlton coaches.

For more information, visit cafc.co.uk or call 020 8850 2866.

ALAN Pardew and Chris Powell attended 10 Downing Street on May 12 as renowned former Charlton goalkeeper Bob Bolder was incorporated into the Show Racism the Red Card Hall of Fame.

Bolder, who made 249 appearances for the Addicks from 1986 to 1993 and now works for Charlton's community operation in Kent, is a long-serving patron of the Show Racism the Red Card campaign.

CHARLTON women's team skipper Kimberley Dixson has become the first Addicks player to commit her future to the Addicks, who will play in the second-tier Premier League Southern Division next season.

The Addicks are also expected to recruit extensively during the summer.
