Leroy Lita (right) is expected to stay in SE7 until the end of the campaign.
ALAN Pardew is hopeful Leroy Lita will extend his stay at The Valley beyond his initial one-month loan deal.
The striker has yet to find the target since arriving at the club on March 5, but the Addicks boss believes he still has a key part to play in securing a play-off place and will remain in SE7 to see the challenge through.
Pardew said: "I've been speaking to Steve Coppell regularly because it is important for us Leroy has some sort of progression here if we can.
"Steve has given me every indication there is a possibility he will stay until the end of the season."
The manager again ruled out an early departure for Scott Sinclair back to Chelsea, despite the winger failing to even make the bench in the last two games.
He added: "There is no change with Scott Sinclair. He is here on loan trying to help us get promoted."

Pardew was reluctant to elaborate when asked to explain Sinclair's absence from the team, but confirmed he had as good a chance as anyone else of being selected to face West Brom at The Valley tomorrow.
Therry Racon is one man who will definitely be plying his trade elsewhere for now after the French midfielder agreed to join Brighton on loan until the end of the season.
Pardew believes the switch will suit all parties and underlined the point Racon still has a long-term future with the Addicks.
He explained: "We've been desperate for Therry to go out on loan and get some senior games because he has played a couple of games for us and played very well, but hasn't had a chance to break through.
"We will see how he gets on with his development as a Charlton player."
The manager claimed he may not be the only player heading out on loan before next week's deadline.
He said: "We've got a big squad here at the moment so one or two might go, but nobody is likely to come in."
Charlton go into tomorrow's West Brom clash on the back of three straight defeats and the manager is expecting an entertaining encounter.
He said: "It's a very important game. They need a win probably as much as us, but for a different scenario.
"I think it will be a good, open footballing game and the three previous games against them have been very, very tight.
"Even the 4-2 game was very tight and could have gone our way at one point, so there is nothing between the sides and hopefully the home advantage and our crowd will give us the edge."
Pardew claimed earlier in the season Charlton and the Baggies were the two best passing sides in the Championship.
Despite this, both sides are far from guaranteed to be playing in the top flight next season and the Addicks chief accepts his side have done themselves no favours recently.
He said: "We are not up to the standard we were setting earlier in the season for sure, but football is made up of all different types of teams and there is no right or wrong team.
"We certainly both like to play and I think the team which wins tomorrow will be the one which plays the better football."
Luke Varney is a doubt for tomorrow's game after picking up a knock in training this morning.
Madjid Bougherra is still on the way back to full fitness and will definitely miss out, but is expected to be available for next week's clash with Wolves.
Send him back to Reading as he is toilet, his first touch is awful and there is a reason why he has not scored thats because he ain't very good! Also get rid of Halford as he is also useless, I don't care if he scored on Friday, it was not that good of a goal, overall he is the worst right back I have seen at Charlton, I even rate him above Greg Shields
