Charlton 4-1 Blackpool
A FIRST half goal flurry gave Charlton their first home victory in over a month at The Valley.
Charlton never looked to be in trouble after Madjid Bougherra headed in at the back post on six minutes.
The Addicks doubled their lead four minutes later when Luke Varney turned on the edge of the box and slided home.
It was a solid defensive performance and Blackpool's only real moment of danger led to their only goal.
Ben Burgess fired home a volley from 25-yards to halve the deficit on 12 minutes.
However, man of the match Zheng Zhi restored the two goal advantage slotting home on 24 minutes after good work from Varney.
Zhi scored the fourth seven minutes into the second half by firing home from close range after a Bougherra header came back off the post.
It was Charlton's first win at home since December 8, but it was a routine victory against a disappointing Blackpool side who rarely tested Nicky Weaver.
Charlton could have added to their advantage when Jerome Thomas fired over from close range after 75 minutes.
And the 21,412 crowd inside saw Paul Rachubka in the Blackpool goal save twice in the dying minutes as Charlton pressed for a fifth.
