Former Charlton goalkeeper made his England debut last night.
The Three Lions cruised to a 2-0 win over Costa Rica in their final friendly game ahead of this month’s World Cup.
Pope, who played for Charlton between 2011 and 2016, replaced Jack Butland after 65 minutes.
The Burnley stopper was a standout performer for the Addicks in their 2015/16 campaign, which ended in relegation.
His impressive form earned him a move to Burnley where he started as third-choice goalkeeper behind Tom Heaton and Paul Robinson.
Robinson’s retirement and an injury to Heaton saw Pope make his Premier League debut last September.
Pope made 39 appearances as Burnley finished seventh with England manager Gareth Southgate naming him in his 23-man World Cup squad.
He will battle Jordan Pickford and Butland for the no1 spot in Russia.
