Lee Bowyer will be “amazed” if Ben Amos fails to win Charlton’s Player of the Year award.

The goalkeeper, who is on loan from Bolton, has played every minute of the Addicks’ 46 games in League One.

The club’s annual Player of the Year dinner takes place this evening with Amos, Tariqe Fosu and Jake Forster-Caskey strong contenders for the prize.

Charlton caretaker boss Bowyer told News Shopper: “Ben has been outstanding and I’d be amazed if he isn't named [Charlton] Player of the Season.

“I say that because he’s just become better and better and better.

“All the lads, they’ve all been outstanding. There have been seven matches when I’ve said to you ‘I can’t give you a man of the match’ and that’s the truth.”

Amos has kept six clean sheets in his last 11 games and will look to continue his good form in the first leg of the play-off semi-finals against Shrewsbury on Thursday.
