Charlton are hoping for their biggest attendance of the season against Blackburn tomorrow.

The fifth-placed Addicks will take another huge step in their quest to make the play-offs if they beat already-promoted Blackburn.

And with the help of more than 3,000 Rovers supporters, the attendance could surpass the 17,581 crowd from the Shrewsbury game in February.

Charlton caretaker boss Lee Bowyer said: “That’s good. It means we’re doing the right things. People want to come and support the lads.

“The football has been good and the players have been showing fighting spirit - everybody has - including the fans.

“They did not stop singing for the whole 90 minutes at Portsmouth. At times, it makes the hairs stand up on your back to see that happening and to see the reaction from the players.

“It shows everybody is together and moving in the right direction. So everything is positive around the place which is good for me and it’s the thing I’m enjoying the most.

“Just come along and support our lads against Blackburn. That’s all I can say. Get behind them for the full 90 minutes because we can turn it into a great day.”

Charlton could secure a play-off spot if they beat Blackburn and their promotion rivals drop points.

Despite winning promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking on Tuesday, Rovers are competing with Wigan for the League One title.

Bowyer added: “With every footballer, there’s only one thing you do when you play in a match, and that’s to try to win.

“It doesn't matter that Blackburn are already promoted, I know that they will be coming to win the game.

“So it’s down to us to make that difficult for them and do what we’ve been doing and I’m sure they’ll be fine.”
