Charlton are chasing highly-rated Chelsea striker Martell Taylor-Crossdale, according to reports.

The youngster has scored 20 goals for the Blues’ youth teams this season, and he is attracting interest from Charlton and fellow League One club Fleetwood.

The Addicks, who are in the midst of a takeover, only have two senior strikers on permanent deals. Josh Magennis is the club’s top scorer with nine goals, while Nicky Ajose is yet to find the net.

Martell Taylor-Crossdale, 18, has just 12 months left on his contract and the Daily Mail says he is considering leaving Chelsea in search of regular first-team football.

And Charlton could be a viable option for the England Under-18s international if the club wins promotion to the Championship this term.

The Addicks occupy the final play-off spot with five games to go.
