Lee Bowyer reckons Scunthorpe will be worried about playing Charlton at the Valley tomorrow.

The Addicks have convincingly beat promotion rivals Plymouth and Rotherham to maintain Bowyer’s 100 per cent home record as caretaker boss.

Up next is Scunthorpe, another play-off hopeful, who are just two points from sixth-placed Charlton.

Bowyer told News Shopper: “The home record is obviously a good thing.

“Scunny will be coming and will be worried about playing us at home. But we have to make it like that for every team that comes here.

“We can’t let our standards drop because we have to win our home games. That’s a must, no matter who we’re playing. I’m confident that we will.

“Scunny will come and try to win the game, they have to because they are behind us which I think will make it a better prospect for us.

“It’s going to be an exciting game with two teams that want to play football. But for us, the most important thing is that we compete and pass the ball quickly.

“After Saturday, there will only be 12 points to play for. So of course, they’re going to have to come here and try to win.”
