Charlton boss Karl Robinson does not know whether he’ll land his January transfer targets amid ongoing takeover talks.

Addicks owner Roland Duchatelet wants to sell the club and is only likely to put forward minimal funds for players this month.

Robinson signed Stephy Mavididi on loan from Arsenal yesterday.

When asked if he was confident of brining any more players in, he said: “No - we’ll see. We’re in a difficult place. I think we need to know what’s going on.

“As we speak, we know there’s people leaving at the Valley. There are a lot of people working hard behind the scenes.

“You've been told with the takeover that they're looking to sell the club. I don't really have much clarity on that. I want this place to be looking where we were looking (promotion). I’ve tried to be honest.

“I care about the club - that’s my main concern. We’ve all worked so hard and the fans deserve it.

“We know we need to bring in players - there are six players I want to bring in and I know four of them could walk through this door tomorrow if they could.

“It’s having an impact on transfer business because you don't know if the new people [owners] come in, what they want, what the budget will be, there will be people who will come in and be football minded and want to achieve something with this great club.

“If they want to buy it, it’s a great club to buy. The fans will be supportive if it's done respectfully and in the right way.”
