Charlton were forced to settle for a point following Clark Robertson's 89th-minute equaliser.

Joe Aribo’s stunning first-half effort, his first league goal for the Addicks, looked to be enough.

However Charlton’s wastefulness in front of goal came back to haunt them yet again.

The result means Charlton have a crucial one-point gap between themselves and seventh-placed Peterborough.

Karl Robinson made four enforced changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Blackburn with Anfernee Dijksteel, Naby Sarr Johnnie Jackson and Leon Best replacing Chris Solly, Jason Pearce, Forster-Caskey and Billy Clarke.

Blackpool attacked Charlton’s full-backs early on but Ben Amos was equal to the dangerous crosses.

And they continued to target the Addicks in the wide areas as Armand Gnanduillet headed a delivery on to the post in the 14th minute.

But that warning sign seemed to wake Charlton up when Aribo put the hosts ahead in style just a minute later. The young midfielder tiptoed his way past two Blackpool defenders to net his first league goal for the club.

Despite scoring against the run of play, Robinson’s men should have been out of sight before half-time.

Josh Magennis volleyed over from close-range before Best’s header was well-saved.

And Best was wasteful again after Magennis’ cross was put wide by the former Blackburn striker.

Gnanduillet should have done better just before the break but failed to keep his shot on target from eight yards.

There wasn't too much action to get excited about following the restart.

Charlton’s extensive injury list increased when Best was forced off just after the hour mark.

Amos came to Charlton’s rescue when he saved Curtis Tilt’s smart backheel in the 66th minute.

George Lapslie, who made his first league appearance for the Addicks, should’ve passed to an unmarked Magennis late on, but went for goal himself and saw his shot blocked.

And the Addicks were dealt the severe blow when Robertson stabbed home Blackpool’s equaliser in the dying minutes of the game.
