Patrick Bauer hopes Charlton fend off interest in Ezri Konsa next month.

The in-demand youngster is being chased by Everton, Arsenal and other Premier League clubs.

And Addicks boss Karl Robinson even thinks £5m-rated Konsa will leave in the January transfer window. But Bauer wants his centre-back partner to stay.

The German defender told News Shopper: “Ezri is a very good player.

“There’s a lot of interest - you can read it everywhere that clubs from the Premier League are watching him.

“He’s a very good lad. It would be good if we can keep all our players [in January].

“We can be successful and every player in the team has an important part to play. It would be good to keep all of us together.

“It’s not up to me to decide [if he goes]. I think if an offer comes in, the manager and the owner, they’ll have to speak about it.

“It’s not really my decision. But like I said, I hope we can keep all our players and stay together.”

Konsa, 19, has been a first-team regular since making the transition from Charlton’s academy.

The Addicks sold Ademola Lookman to Everton for £11m last January - and are likely to cash in on Konsa.
