Charlton boss Karl Robinson has defended his players after their 2-0 defeat to Scunthorpe.

The Addicks dropped to sixth in League One and suffered a first reverse in 10 games thanks to two wonder goals from Josh Morris.

And Robinson believes Morris’ strikes will be the best goals scored against Charlton this season.

Not for the first time this term, the south Londoners wasted glorious chances to take the lead with Mark Marshall, Josh Magennis and Ricky Holmes going close.

Robinson, who took charge of his 400th game as a manager today, said: “We can’t worry about the defeat.

“We by far edged the chances - it’s about the chances you create. Our set-up was perfect - it’s as strong a performance as a unit that we’ve put in all season against a team who are dominant here.

“How can you judge our players? We were without some of our offensive players, we've created two or three gilt-edged chances and they've scored two of the best goals you'll see against Charlton Athletic.

“The first goal is unbelievable - when you see it back, you will not believe how it’s moved and you're thinking ‘oh my god, that's some strike’.

“You then see the next one that is ten times better and you think ‘what more?’ My players have done nothing wrong and that’s all I can ask for.

“They’re probably the best [two] goals I've seen in the 400 games.”
