Naby Sarr admits he never expected to become a Charlton cult hero.
Sarr, who joined the Addicks from Sporting Lisbon in 2015, has grabbed his chance after two frustrating years, one of which was spent on loan at French club Red Star.
Valley boss Karl Robinson reintegrated the defender into the first-team over the summer, and the Frenchman has played 13 times this season.
When asked about becoming a cult hero, Sarr, 24, said: “No, I didn't expect that.

“For me the most important thing is on the field, when you do well on the field, everyone can see it.
“And if I play well then it’s for the fans - it’s good.
“I’ve been very happy when they chant my name. It gives me confidence and strength.”
