Former England assistant John Gorman has likened Karl Robinson to Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche.

Howe, 39, and Dyche, 46, managers of Bournemouth and Burnley respectively, are viewed as two of the best young British coaches in football.

And Gorman, who worked with Robinson at MK Dons as his no2 from 2010 to 2012, believes the Charlton boss could follow in their footsteps.

He told News Shopper: “I think Karl could [manage in the Premier League] - why not? He’s like Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche.

“I coached Sean at Northampton, I was leaving him out of the first-team and he wasn't too happy.

“I asked him to take a coaching role and Karl took on a coaching role because he finished playing football when he was young.

“Even though he [Karl] is a young manager in terms of his age, he’s still got a lot of experience under his belt.”

Gorman, 68, was ex-England manager Glenn Hoddle’s right-hand man at the 1998 World Cup.
