Charlton striker Brandon Hanlan has joined Colchester on loan. 

Hanlan, 20, will return to the Addicks on January 14.

The youngster is a product of Charlton’s renowned academy, and made a handful of appearances last season.

He enjoyed a successful loan spell with National League side Bromley in the second half of the 2016/17 campaign, scoring four goals in eight games.

Now, Hanlan will gain more valuable first-team experience with Colchester in League Two while Charlton look to mount a promotion push.

The Addicks are fourth having won three of their opening four games.
