Charlton first-team coach Chris O’Loughlin has left the club.

O’Loughlin joined the Addicks’ backroom staff in November - and Valley boss Karl Robinson appointed him on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

But the 38-year-old’s contract has not been extended.

It leaves Lee Bowyer as Charlton’s only first-team coach, with club captain Johnnie Jackson expected to join the former West Ham man in the dugout.

News Shopper understands that O’Loughlin was surprised not to be offered a new deal by Charlton chiefs.

O’Loughlin is well-known to Addicks owner Roland Duchatelet after managing one of his network clubs Sint-Truiden in 2015.

He is Charlton’s third first-team coach to leave SE7 this summer, following Simon Clark and Richie Barker out of the door.
