May brings a time of the year when I log online and purchase my Charlton season ticket. I have owned one every year since 1998.

Some people have asked why we renew with fans’ hatred of the ownership and not wanting to put a penny in Roland Duchatelet’s pocket. My answer is simple – family.

I was 11 years old when I went to my first Charlton game. There was a 'Kids for a Quid' promotion running in my local paper, I asked my dad to take me and he obliged. It was Charlton vs Oldham with the Addicks winning 1-0. Since then, I’ve never looked back.

When my dad passed away a few years ago, I promised myself I would never stop watching Charlton through thick and thin. And I said I would keep this tradition going until I was physically unable.

Whatever reason people do or do not sign up for a season ticket, it will never change my mind. My passion for this club started with my dad and it will never stop whatever people say or do.

I voice my concerns and support and at this pivotal point in the club’s history, we need to give our support to everyone involved. The team is a major part of Charlton but the club needs us now more than ever.

Whether it’s Duchatelet’s Charlton or someone else’s in the future, I won’t just be buying one season ticket, I will be buying two and bringing my eldest daughter with me.

This club allowed me to spend quality time with my dad and if I can provide my daughter with the same experience I had, I will be a happy man.
