Christian Benteke insists Sam Allardyce’s sudden departure will not affect his Crystal Palace future.

Allardyce walked away from the Eagles after guiding the club to Premier League survival last month.

And Benteke, who netted 15 league goals in his debut season at Selhurst Park, says he is still happy in London.

Speaking about Allardyce’s exit, the Belgium striker said: “It was a surprise for me.

“I was on holiday when I heard. He’s a big man, he knows what he’s doing.

“I’m still happy because I am playing the way I want to play and the last few weeks the team did well.”
