Charlton fans have reacted to the news that former star Diego Poyet has had his West Ham contract terminated by mutual consent.
Poyet, 21, only played 10 games for the Hammers in two years in east London following his transfer move from the Valley.
The ex-England U17 international was sent out on three separate loan spells by West Ham – including a return to Charlton last season.
Poyet is now a free agent and can sign for another club outside of the transfer window.
Charlton fans said the exit was proof Poyet should have snubbed the Premier League to continue his development at Charlton:
Ideas above your station Diego Poyet??? Crash back to earth #cafc @diegopoyet7

Poyet is definitely worth a gamble. Regular football under a manager who knows what he is doing might just rediscover that potential #cafc
