Andrew Crofts brings quality and experience to the Charlton team, according to Johnnie Jackson.
Crofts, who started his career at Gillingham before enjoying spells at Brighton and Norwich, signed a one-year deal at Charlton in July.
The 32-year-old has featured in all four of the Addicks’ games so far this season and Jackson has been impressed by his performances.
The Valley skipper said: “Croft is so experienced. He has played hundreds of games at every level, including international.

“He brings a lot of quality and know-how to the team.
“In them times when it is tough he is another voice on the pitch that before we’ve lacked.
“We’ve got quite a few experienced heads so that when it isn’t going so well, it’s not just me trying to rally.”
The Addicks got their campaign up and running on Tuesday night with a comfortable 3-0 win over Shrewsbury Town.
Summer signing Nicky Ajose is yet to open his account for the club and missed a glorious chance against the Shrews.
The 24-year-old striker netted 24 goals for Swindon Town last season and Jackson is confident he will continue that form for the South Londoners.
“Nicky is a quality forward and prides himself on goals which is why you saw a little bit of frustration with him,” Jackson added.
“But he’s getting into the positions and if we keep providing him with chances they’re going to come.
“He scored a hatful last year and I’m pretty certain he will score a lot of goals for us this year as well.”
