Zakarya Bergdich has had his contract terminated, Charlton have confirmed.

News Shopper revealed earlier in the month that the Addicks were in the process of pulling the plug on Bergdich.

The Morocco international failed to report back for pre-season training following the summer break and was fined for his conduct.

The winger signed a four-year deal with the club in July 2015 but only started 11 league games during the 2015/16 campaign.

French side Lens, who play in Ligue 2, have expressed an interest in the 27-year-old.

Meanwhile, Russell Slade says he is willing to be patient to land one of his main transfer targets before the summer window closes.
