Charlton have confirmed the signing of Jordan Botaka from Leeds United on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old wants to find regular football at the Valley and becomes Russell Slade’s second arrival of the day following Northern Ireland international Josh Magennis.

Slade told the club website: "Jordan is a strong boy, he’s really pacey and quick. He’s very impressive in one-on-one situations and likes to take players on.

"He’s still young at 23 and is still learning about the game over here.

"He could be a real threat at this level because he’s very strong when you give him the ball – he’s very creative and we’re very happy to have him for the season ahead."

Botaka has represented DR Congo at an international level seven times and played 13 games for Leeds last season.

The tricky winger started his professional career at Club Brugge and played 73 league games for Dutch side Excelsior before signing for Leeds.
