Two lairy football fans have been banned for anti-social behaviour during Charlton’s pre-season friendly against Welling United.
They have both received a three-year banning order from all Charlton Athletic matches, both home and away, following disruption at the Addicks’ 4-1 victory at Park View Road on July 9.
Last month, Charlton announced the appointment of Cliff Eager as the club’s new agency liaison & duty safety officer.
Safety officers will also be travelling to away games this season during Charlton’s League One campaign, which starts this weekend away at Bury.
Mick Everett, head of matchday operations, said: “We want to make sure that there is always a safe atmosphere for Charlton Athletic fans attending home and away games.”
The club, which suffered relegation from the Championship last season, has also imposed bans on two individuals who invaded the pitch during the club’s final home match of the 2015/16 campaign against Burnley in May.
The disruption resulted in the referee having to stop the game.
