Charlton defender Chris Solly has signed a new three-year deal with the club.

The 25-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the Addicks since signing his first professional contract in 2009.

Solly said: “I’m really pleased to have committed my future to the club again. I’ve been at Charlton since I was 11 years old and I’m delighted that it will continue to be such a big part of my life.

“I always give my all every time I go out onto the pitch and I’m determined to try and get us back into the Championship at the first time of asking.”

Russell Slade insisted he knows Solly will give everything for the club.

The former Cardiff boss said: “Chris has been a terrific clubman over the years and to secure him gives us great pleasure.

“The Charlton blood is deep rooted in him. This club means a lot to him and I know he’ll give everything to the club in his performances over the season “He is over the little injury that he had recently and is really looking forward to getting some action under his belt.”
