Charlton midfielder Ahmed Kashi has made a big step in his battle to regain fitness by appearing for the U21 side.
The Algerian international has been absent since September with a long-term injury.
But Kashi, who was filmed training last week as he bids to make a return, was named in the U21 starting XI which beat Leeds 1-0 today.
The 27-year-old lasted 45 minutes at the Valley before being replaced by Anfernee Dijksteel.
The former Metz man is rated highly by coaches in SE7 and has a big reputation amongst Addicks fans.
