Charlton have been handed a timely boost ahead of their relegation six-pointer at the weekend with Ademola Lookman in contention to feature against Rotherham.

The 18-year-old star has missed Charlton’s last five matches in all competitions after breaking down with a hamstring injury.

The forward made an instant impact after earning a spot in the Addicks’ first-team, scoring three goals in three games in early December.

While the youngster’s progress was halted after the home defeat to Wolves, News Shopper understands that he has recovered from his injury and has a good chance of featuring on Saturday.

Lookman’s presence would provide new Charlton boss Jose Riga with a much-needed boost following the club’s dire run of form.

The Addicks are winless in 12 games and four points adrift of Rotherham, who are 21st in the league.

It is also believed that Charlton have no fresh injury concerns from Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Blackburn, although long-term absentees Alou Diarra and Patrick Bauer remain sidelined.
