Karel Fraeye has confirmed that Charlton will look to get business done during the January transfer window as the club desperately attempt to climb out of trouble.

The Addicks have won just four of their 24 Championship games this season and a wretched run under both Guy Luzon and interim boss Karel Fraeye has left the South Londoners second bottom.

Monday’s 2-0 defeat at home to Wolves extended Charlton’s winless run to seven games, and Fraeye understands the club will be forced to bolster the squad when the transfer window reopens.

“I think the club will do everything not to go down,” Fraeye, who was appointed caretaker manager following Luzon’s sacking, said.

“The staff, the fans and the board are not happy with the situation we are in.

“The board are aware of the situation we are in and I think what is needed to be done, will be done [in January].

“The club will do what they have to do. We know what is needed and it’s time to do it.”

Charlton will be desperate to record a rare home win on Saturday against Nottingham Forest, who have not been beaten in seven games under Scottish manager Dougie Freedman.
