Charlton chief executive Katrien Meire has reassured supporters that communication between the club and fans will improve after Tuesday night’s meeting at the Valley.

The lack of dialogue between fans and the club was one of the most prevalent topics during the meeting, in which supporters were given the opportunity to express their concerns to senior club officials.

Meire reiterated that the club value supporters’ views immensely and insisted that Charlton will offer regular opportunities for fans to raise their suggestions.

“I try to listen to the fans and engage with the fans,” Meire said.

“If you feel unvalued we want to bridge that gap and make you feel valued.

“I receive a lot of emails and try to skim through them, I forward them on to the relevant department.

“I don’t always want to reply because I don’t know how it will be received.

“This is an opportunity to say I receive a lot and I value them and am aware of them, but cannot always respond to them.”

Meire added: “It’s not our intention to disregard your views.

“We will invite fans to give their opinion on a number of occasions throughout the year, that’s something we can commit to.”
