Charlton Athletic ended their wretched run in front of goal on Saturday with Johnnie Jackson scoring the club’s first goal in over seven hours of football.
The Addicks’ skipper, 33, provided the hosts with a lead after he rose well from Johann Gudmundsson’s corner to guide his header past Sheffield Wednesday stopper Keiren Westwood.
The goal provided the club with some relief after fans organised a protest before the Championship fixture.
The group of supporters, around 300 in number, held anti-Roland Duchatelet banners aloft and vented their frustration towards the club’s hierarchy.
