Charlton Athletic fans took the almost unprecedented step on Saturday afternoon to protest against the club’s hierarchy.

A group gathered outside the main entrance of the Valley at 2.30pm to vent their frustration at owner Roland Duchatelet and chief executive Katrien Miere.

The protest, which was organised by the Spell it Out in Black and White campaign, began with chants of “we want our Charlton back”.

Banners were also held reading “made in Charlton, destroyed in Belgium”.

CEO Meire could be seen in a directors’ box, allegedly taking a photograph of the protesting fans below.

This sparked more aggressive chants from the protesters.
