Johnnie Jackson insists he will not let Charlton players shirk responsibility at MK Dons tonight.

The Addicks go into the fixture second from bottom in the Championship after losing eight of their last ten league matches.

The winless run went on following interim boss Karel Fraeye’s first game ending in a 3-0 hammering at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The Charlton skipper said: “It’s down to us, as players, to do our part and at the moment, what we’re serving up isn't good enough.

“I can promise the fans that we’re giving everything we can - I certainly won’t let the players shirk it.

“There has to be 11 lads on the pitch, not three or four because otherwise we’ll never get results.”

MK Dons are likely to start with two former Charlton players in Diego Poyet and Simon Church.

Poyet, the Addicks 13/14 Player of the Year, has started every game since arriving on loan from West Ham in August.

While Church has netted twice this season - nearly halving his league tally of five during his two-year spell at the club.

Jackson, 33, stressed the importance of getting a result tonight with the Buckinghamshire side sitting just one point above Charlton in the table.

He added: “We need a result and we need it quickly against a team who are in and around us in the league.

“It’s a must-win game in the fact that we’re desperate for points but if we don't win, we’re not relegated.

“If I say it’s a must-win game and we don't win, what does that mean? It’s over? No.

“We need to get something to kick start our season - I was hoping the Fulham turnaround would be that but it hasn't proved to be.

“MK Dons on Tuesday and Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday: these are two opportunities to go into the international break on a bit of positivity.”

Jackson and Chris Solly are the only survivors from the last encounter
at Stadium MK, a 1-1 draw in September 2011.
