Guy Luzon was staying non-committal this lunchtime when asked if a deal was still on for Wolves winger James Henry.

It is understood the Addicks remain very keen on snapping up the 26-year-old before the transfer window shuts next week.

But Valley head coach Luzon was giving little away about the prospects of the move being completed before the dealine.

“I really don’t know what is happening with the media with all the speculation about Henry,” the Israeli explained.

“As I said before, if we have the opportunity to bring good players, and also we have the financial side to do it, we will do it.

“And if not, no.”

Should the Henry deal fail to materialise, there is someone else Luzon could potentially call upon.

“Jermaine Pennant has started training with us,” said the Charlton boss.

“Because we have every three days a game we don’t have enough training to see precisely his quality.

“But of course he has a lot of quality, a lot of experience and we will see.

“We will take a decision.”

Asked if Pennant could sign, Luzon responded: “Maybe , it is an option.”

Luzon reaffirmed his earlier stance none of the key members of his squad would depart before deadline day, but again was giving little away when pressed specifically on whether fringe player Callum Harriott could be on his way.

“We will see,” was all the SE7 manager would say.
