Reza Ghoochannejhad has been ruled out for a month after sustaining a knee injury in Tuesday’s 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest.

The Iranian came off the bench to replace fellow striker Tony Watt, but Ghoochannejhad’s cameo at the City Ground only lasted 20 minutes until he too was forced off.

And boss Guy Luzon confirmed this lunchtime the initial diagnosis was not good.

“Reza will miss the next month,” the Israeli said.

“He has been playing well but he hurt his knee.

“Now he has some problems with his knee and we will have to see.”

Luzon now has a few other selection dilemmas ahead of Saturday’s Tigers clash following a bruising encounter with Forest.

He added: “Tony Watt is injured and I’m not sure that he will take part in the next game.

“Chris Solly also felt his ankle and I’m not sure if he will be OK.”

However, there is some good news for Addicks fans on another absentee striker.

Luzon said: “Igor Vetokele is close to coming back to the squad and to the team.

“I think he will be available next week.

“It is not too early, it is after one month out but I think he will be ready to be part of the squad next week.”

Charlton missed out on a deal for Brad Jones earlier this week, who instead decided to join Bradford.

However, the Valley chief hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of bringing in another keeper.

He said: “If we can find someone who can be the second to Nick Pope, we will bring him.

“If not, then no.”
