Christophe Lepoint’s brief spell at Charlton is over after the midfielder joined Belgian outfit SV Zulte Waregem.

Having only joined the Addicks during the January transfer window on a two-and-a-half-year contract, Lepoint ended up playing just half a dozen times for the Addicks and didn’t exactly win many admirers while doing so.

The 30-year-old wasn’t seen on the field at all since late March when he came on as an 88th minute substitute for Tony Watt in the 3-2 win over Reading, although he was named on the bench for the next five games.

Lepoint’s solitary start saw him replaced by Chris Eagles just after the hour with Charlton trailing 1-0 at Cardiff City, a game they went on to win 2-1.

And now the Belgian’s short stay in England is over after he returned to his native country today to sign for SV Zulte Waregem, where he will work under his one-time boss Francky Dury.
